Sugar Sammy continues to seduce the whole of France.

He has just won Best Comedian in the Le Parisien magazine’s prestigious countdown of 2018’s hottest performing arts and television stars in their annual Les Étoiles du Parisien show, which were announced  tonight. The awards gala, which took place at the Théâtre de Mogodor, was televised for the first time, on the C8 network. He shares the honour in this category with comedian Fabrice Eboué.

“These are our favourites: The singers, live shows, films and TV shows that have thrilled our writers this year and which we’ll celebrate, along with our viewers.” Said Maguelone Bonnaud, Le Parisien’s Arts & Leisure editor in chief.

Le Parisien – Aujourd’hui en France is the largest paid national daily paper, selling 324,000 copies each weekday. It’s read by 2.3 million readers and is the 3rd most read news site in France, with 17.6 million visitors. Each month, the Le Parisien-Aujourd’hui en France brand reaches over 20 million French readers with its national, international and local news.

Along with this latest win, Sugar Sammy has extended his visit to France, adding 27 more shows at the Alhambra theatre in Paris, each weekend from April 4 to June 1, 2019. He’ll also continue to bring his version of joy to the rest of Europe, including a show in Luxembourg in May, the 32nd country that he’s performed in. He’s now sold 55,000 tickets in Europe, with 171 shows in Paris and 40 shows in the rest of France, Belgium and Switzerland.

In 2019 he’ll return to Canada to perform in Toronto and Ottawa and undertake a short tour of the US.
